I realised I haven't posted a new blog post in ages! And I felt like it was about time to update again. As Spring is quickly approaching, I have recently updated my everyday make-up to accommodate for this transition, as I do not need such heavy-moisturising face products and I like to focus on my eyes rather that my face. Here are the products that I use everyday and a mini review about them - good and bad points!
I have already written a review on this product, but I LOVE it so much! Although I haven't tried that many concealers before, I would definitely re-purchase this as it is a dream to blend and it covers up better than many other concealers - especially those horrible dark eye circles! One thing that I dislike (not necessarily about the product), is that it is a "drugstore" / high street product, which means it is less convenient to try this out in store as I find it just a little too light for me, hence the reason for the next product...
Revlon Photoready Concealer 004 (£7.99):
The first time I purchased this product was because Bubzbeauty used it and it was on offer at Superdrug, so I decided why not, let's give it a shot! I wouldn't say I was disappointed by the product, but I expected something different. This concealer does blend really nicely, but as the day progresses, the applied areas begin to dry quite quickly and those areas begin to feel less velvety smooth in comparison to the first few hours of application - now I don't know if this is just me, but I didn't really like that effect. However, having applied it on top of the Mabelline Fit Me Concealer, the two works wonderfully as a combination and gives me the perfect colour!
I actually got this from my Mom's make-up so i have no idea if I can still go and get it 'cause she got it awhile back. Having said that, if I could - I would! This product is AMAZING! It sets my concealer so wonderfully, and when I use it to set my foundation (when I wear it), it gives me a flawless complexion. I realise that this would be a price-ier option for foundation, but I would definitely choose to use something better on my face, especially if it is everyday make-up, and if you are someone who wears foundation everyday, don't hold back when purchasing a good quality foundation as you do get what you pay for.
Benefit Brow Shaping Kit - Medium (£22):
This product is a lifesaver. Not too long a go, my product that I could not live without would be mascara, but now it is definitely my brows. You should definitely sort your brows out if you haven't, because it pulls together an entire look and it does frame your face. Having said all this, DO NOT draw something pathetic eyebrows on where you cannot see any of your natural hair or overpluck them, because that is NOT a good look. Back to this kit, I love love LOVE this, it is so much easier than using an eyebrow pencil and most importantly, it lasts all day, it gives you such precision and it is definitely the product I cannot live without!
Mac Eyeliner in Smolder (£14):
I have a love-hate relationship with this product...dependent on where you place it, it will decide to last all day or a few minutes. I think judging by the name, it is meant for a "smoldering smokey eye look", and that is why it smudges so easily - therefore I would not recommend you wearing this on your waterline. However, tightlining with this product works wonders and instantly makes you look like you have really full lashes. So in summary, be careful how you use this product, but if you use it correctly, it will change your life.
QVS Eyelash Curler (£2.99):
Not much to say about this, not exactly and amazing eyelash curler, but it does what it should, can't say it is the best, but it'll do. I'm desperate to try the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler 'cause I've heard so many good stuff about it, but I do not dare to spend so much on an eyelash curler...tell me how it is if you own one!
L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara - Waterproof Black (£9.99):
I have recently rediscovered this mascara in my mascara collection, and it is amazing whether it is on its own or layered with another (what I do). I think that I initially didn't like it as I used it on holiday and my eyelashes were quit limp and weak from the chlorine of the pool so it didn't work very well, but not as they are more or less back to normal - it is great! It just adds so much volume to your lashes, and for someone who usually only buys bristle mascaras, this works amazing. Although I have not tried the Benefit They're Real! Mascara, I had heard that they are comparable. This mascara leaves them somewhat natural yet SO voluminous!
£22 for a mascara is pretty hefty, but I ADORE this mascara, and I will definitely be trying more from the Lancome Hypnose range, I've previously nabbed a Lancome mascara from my Mom and loved it, but was too stingey to go and buy one for myself but I finally have and I love it! It adds so much length and volume to your lashes and they stay like that all day, I've seen mixed reviews on this mascara online so it might depend on your lashes, but for me, it is AMAZING! One thing that I didn't like about it when I wore it on its own (which is why I pair it with a waterproof mascara) is the fact that it kills the curl in your lashes but extends them, so it depends what you want really.
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturising Lip Balm - Mango (£12 for 3):
WHY ARE THESE NOT IN ENGLAND?! That is my only question. I have seen on YouTube that there are coloured version of these, but unfortunately they are not available on Amazon and I have only bought this type before. This lip balm is so intensely moisturising, it works wonders on your lips! A definite must-have in your handbag! Not to mention that it smells divine as well!
Bobbi Brown Lip Color - Pale Pink (£11.80 at an outlet):
So I hope you've enjoyed reading about my everyday make-up, I would love to hear your swear-by beauty items, so do leave a comment and I hope the mini reviews as helped!
Love, Nicole
